v1-4 David prepares for the building of the temple, which will fall to Solomon to carry out.
v5 David sees his son as a little boy, yet with a huge task to follow the Lord. He makes every preparation possible to set Solomon up for success in serving the Lord.
As parents, this has to be our focus. These little ones will one day have great tasks in front of them, and we should be preparing for that now. Always.
v11-16 A blessing and a charge.
v17 Not only did he make financial preparations for his son, but he set up a human support system for him. Godly leaders who would be able to come alongside him.
Another excellent parenting example for us!
v5 Music-making was a serious job among the Levites serving the Lord.

The Levites are accounted for and assigned their duties.
