Yesterday our potbellied piglet, Chunk, got out of his make-shift pen and rampaged through my garden. I had cabbages and spinach getting really close to full-grown, and now they're only a few naked stalks standing on end. I'm not too upset, though. I bought those seedlings back in the fall and just fit them in where I could, to see what would happen. They grew beautifully all fall and winter.
I cleaned up one of the beds and threw in some radish and carrot seed. I've learned that there are organized, careful gardeners, and then there's the kind like me: plant anything anywhere it'll fit and see what happens. I only have time for either planning or planting. I choose planting.
So today was carrots and radishes. I've had great success with radishes. Please plant as many as you can I your own garden! They're great fun! Carrots? I've harvested approximately 3 carrots out of hundreds that I've planted. But I'm still trying!
