Since I've had plenty of time (3.5 years) to think about what I want for Ethan's (and eventually Elijah's) room, it was easy to come up with some inspirations for a mood board.
None of the items on this board, with the exception of the curtain, will literally make it into the room, but this is the overall feeling I'm aiming for. Without going too themey, I want it to have a vintage camp vibe. And it may have a few references to the movie, Moonrise Kingdom, since I just about lost my mind over the set design in that one.
Like the rest of the house, it will be mainly shades of green and blue, with accents of orange. The quilts, which I hope to finish to start working on again soon, only need to be backed and quilted. You can see some of the progress here:
Bottom bunk:
And top bunk:
Here's a check list, although I may have to add to it as I go:
Paint walls green.
Create a full chalkboard accent wall.
Build and hang behind-the-door shelves.
Build bunk bed book shelves.
Make curtains.
Finish quilts.
Hang map.

Once these are complete, I'll take stock of what else needs to be done.
You can find more inspiration on my boys room pinboard, my kids room pinboard, or you can just go ahead and follow all my boards! I add new pins all the time, so I promise I'll find you lots of new ideas and eye candy.
See you next time--I have work to do!
