But I am. I finally get back into the groove of taking pictures of my work, and posting on the blog regularly, when I drop my camera. It's a pretty sturdy camera, so amazingly it is still taking great pictures. But the latch that keeps the batteries in is broken. So if I want to take a picture of anything, I have to stick the batteries in, hold on tight, reset the date and time, keep holding on tight, and somehow point, zoom, adjust, and shoot.
So, from here my options are few. 1. Keep going through the above scenario. (great, unless I'm taking tons of pictures--like product for the shop). 2. Buy a new camera. Not really an option, since we just bought a whole house and are still working out the kinks in that purchase. 3. Ask for one for my birthday. We'll see. New, shiny electronics have never been my ideal gift to receive, since I feel guilty about the expense. And then I worry if the giver will be offended if I don't use it enough, or Heaven forbid I should drop it again! On the other hand, I could justify that a camera really is an art supply--not to mention the very backbone of my business. So maybe I'll cozy up to that idea. Does anyone have any suggestions for a really good camera for under $200? I'd love to see what has been working for you. And I'll take suggestions for the larger price range, too--there's just no way I'll be asking for any of those as a gift.
. . .
I went thrift store shopping today (alone!) and have some great finds to show, as well as a cute story that goes with it. Hope I can keep the batteries inside the camera long enough to take a few shots for you. Or maybe I could find one of those super-duty rubber bands they use in the produce section...
