The birthday girl has a special bunny friend, so we made her the star of the ensemble.

A little sewing

Sometimes I feel like I've fallen down a rabbit hole and into Wonderland.  Actually I feel like that a lot of the time.  There are so many things that I want to do with my time, that a daily routine often doesn't allow for them all.  So, for weeks at a time, I'll do 4 out of 6 of my regular activity, and then I have to switch them up and do a different 4 out of the 6.  I don't know if that makes sense, but it does explain why there are occasional unexplained absences from Blogging.  I get distracted.

Well, here's one of the activities that has been keeping me busy:

A birthday outfit for a 5-year-old who loves tea parties.  This is actually the shirt I made for her little sister.  I'll show the birthday girl's outfit later.  I got this assignment in the same week that my mom commissioned the aprons, so it was a busy couple of weeks!

Sometimes things just work out.

Here's a little hint into what I've been working on.  My mom, who has her own organic gardening business with her friend Lori, decided that they needed some uniforms.  They were working at a really fancy house, and noticed that all the other "servants" had snappy uniforms.  So they called me.  I've never made an apron before, gardening or otherwise, but I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like.  And like my title says, sometimes things just work out.

The apron is just above knee-length with tons of hardware.  Adjustable strap, grommets, and tons of rivets around the pockets.  Everything is reinforced with double rows of orange stitching.

That little pocket is for their business cards!

I put her logo on the fronts, wrapped them up, and shipped them off to Texas earlier this week.  Reaction??  She loved them.

A Brand New Bag

In the last six months I've been making and selling more baby slings.  I love making these almost as much as I love using them, so I hope to continue this in the next year.  I decided to add something to them, so they would make better gifts, so now each of my slings will come packaged in one of these muslin bags.

The bottom circle on the outside is the lining, and the top circle is the main fabric.  Now mom has a place to store her sling when it's not being used.
