Yes, it has been weeks since I sat down to my computer to journal. This is the life of a youth pastor's wife in the summer. It is 3 times as hectic as retail during Christmas. We have not been home! And I am what you call a home-body. I love to dig in and nest. I guess that's why I'm always making things with which to feather this little nest of ours. But, still the summer crazies are not quite over. While the beginning of the summer saw family camp, VBS, a family funeral, youth camp, 3 weddings, and 2 sets of out-of-town guests, we still have another wedding, more company, and finally (!) a family vacation in August.
I have been sewing very little. I whipped up a little dress for Emma the other day, but have yet to take a picture of it. And the only other sewing I have on the schedule is a pair of flower-girl dresses for the afore-mentioned wedding. If you think of me, say a prayer, because I am quickly bogging down. I need the daily/weekly routine to kick-start any creativity. And it's been weeks since I've even had time to daydream!
But! I have had time here and there to sneak in a couple craft projects. And this is the only thing that has kept me out of the nuthouse thus far. Here's one...I call him Stinky:
He's a sock dog I made for my Nephew, Camden's birthday last month. I added safety eyes from the craft store, and I love how they make him look interested.
And here he is reading his favorite book...also Emma's favorite. If there are any of you out there who would like to make your own sock puppy, and would like me to post my pattern and instructions, leave me a comment saying so. It was very fun to do, and everything was hand-sewn. If I have much interest, I'll post a step-by-step tutorial.
