Okay, here's an explanation for the troll totes. While I was in Dallas a few months ago, my mom and I were shopping when Emma came across an old troll doll. She was being gentle, so we let her play with it, and the whole time we were there she mothered that troll like it was a precious baby. She rocked him, and talked to him, and kissed his little trolly lips. And when we left (troll-less), she was very sad to leave him behind. (But I could not pay $8 for a troll that I might find for 50 cents at a yard sale!)
So, when I came across this cute, and only slightly creepy, troll sheet, I knew that I'd have to make her something with it. The girl loves bags. And the library. So I made her a book bag. I lined the whole thing with troll fabric, and cut out one of the less-creepy specimens for the patch on the front. I used weaver's cloth for the body of the bag because it was sturdy without being bulky. I chose the natural color to make it more ambiguous.
So now she has her troll. (Are you happy now, Mom?) And I made a few more for the shop, if there are any more troll-lovers out there. And the left-over troll fabric will be made into troll patches, in case someone would like to add a troll to something other than a tote.
