We are still weathering the storm of back injury, colds, and a two-year-old over here. There is a little (very little) crafting going on, but there is something that I haven't blogged about that I finished a couple weeks ago.
My dining room curtains! (Excuse the less-than-serene view.) This has been such a pain for me. I have a problem doing the same thing more than once. Even when I am making multiples of the same overalls, I always change the design or fabrics ever-so-slightly to keep myself interested. You can't really do that with curtains, so these have been a really long time coming.
We moved into this house almost two years ago, and I immediately ran out and bought some fabric to throw over the flimsy, white curtain rods. It was mostly a privacy issue, but Donnie mistook this for an un-finished project. (I have a few of those around the house.) So these window coverings have slowly, sloooowwwwly progressed from solid champaign-colored panels, that I hung to the rod with straight pins, and didn't even bother to hem, to what you see here today. I slashed the plain fabric into strips, inserted the slender green stripes, and hemmed everything up. Not complicated at all, but not that interesting either.
I am really glad to have these finished. Donnie was too. You can see that he hung the pretty new curtain rods for me, and even installed these cool tie-backs I found at Hobby Lobby.
($5 a pair in the clearance aisle!)
He then commented, "Good, now you can start on the curtains for the bedroom!" Hmm.
