As long as I'm the one doing the labeling...
To make the labels I mentioned on this post, I pulled out some iron-on transfer paper that I'd been hoarding since Christmas '06. I printed out as many "lasso the moons" as I could fit on a page. (Make sure you print in reverse-image!)
Then, one at a time, I cut out the labels really close to the image. Iron face down onto your fabric. Mine was already backed with and iron-on adhesive to help prevent fraying.
Let them cool a little before pulling the paper off the label. Then, when I'm finished with an item, I can just hand-stitch them on. If you want to iron the label to the item before sewing, make sure you protect your transfer with some parchment paper to prevent damaging it.
Then you can just sew it down when you're finished with the item. Here it is on my friend Jessie's little wristlet bag.
In the last six months I've been making and selling more baby slings. I love making these almost as much as I love using them, so I hope to continue this in the next year. I decided to add something to them, so they would make better gifts, so now each of my slings will come packaged in one of these muslin bags.
The bottom circle on the outside is the lining, and the top circle is the main fabric. Now mom has a place to store her sling when it's not being used.
Why is it that the more prolific I am with my art and craft, the less I feel like posting about it on here? I guess I just like to stay on a roll. Well, sorry I left those Pan pictures up so long (even though Baylor is a cutie!). I have lots to share--I just had to get all of my pictures out of my camera, which was still in my suitcase even though I came back from Dallas a week ago. I know.
I finally took same pictures of the new circus designs that I came up with. These turned out really good. I love it when I can actually get an idea out of my head and onto the paper. It takes practice, and a lot of patience, I assure you. But it is actually getting easier with experience.

There are a couple hiding under the top sheet. I'll show those when the whole thing is all sewn up. I don't want to give everything away! I have to say, though. That trapeze monkey really gets me. He'll be showing up in further projects, no doubt.
Today I'm having a friend over so I can teach her how to freezer paper stencil. I hosted a onesie-making party for my new-born niece when I was in Texas, and we had a huge blast. I think I've found my true calling. Sharing freezer paper with the world. I'll ask Abby (my sister) for the pictures of the final onesies. They were incredible.
I'm about to transfer all of my fabric from my old shop to my new supply shop. So, to help with the transition and feelings of confusion and abandonment, I'm putting all currently-listed fabric on SALE! This means that most fat quarters will be only $2!

I have been thinking about opening a new shop for crafting supplies only, and I've finally done it! It i's called ROPE--to kind of go with the "lasso" theme.
So far I've only listed the pockets I've saved from overall designs, but I think it's going to fill up pretty quickly.
I'm doing mostly de-stash right now, but eventually I'll transfer my vintage fabric to ROPE as well. Shipping can still be combined from both stores, but the discount will be in the form of a refund.
Hello! I've spent so much time in my basement dungeon workspace that I haven't been able to post here. But the craft fair is over, and I am back!
The fair was a success. I think I'm getting the hang of talking about my work, but I'm sure I'll never find it easy. It feels so vulnerable to share your creativity with someone face to face.
I was able to do a lot of shmoozing with other vendors, and that was so much fun. The fair was well-curated, so there was lots of variety, and not just the same old thing. I got up really early this morning, packed everything up, and didn't realize I had forgotten my camera until I was almost there. (Sorry, Mom! I know you wanted to see the booth!) Oh, well. That was the only thing I forgot, so no big deal. I sang the praises of Etsy so much that they should consider paying me a commission. I think I talked three different vendors into opening shops!
I do have lots of new goodies to show you and add to the shop. Like the little bunny girl, above... And this:
I love banners and garlands, so this is just the first of many. Made with some left-over vintage linens fabric. I also started printing with my new gocco, and I have to say that I am smitten! I'll share those when I get the chance to take some pictures.
Thanks for all the love for my mom's chickens in the last post. She was so surprised! And she sold two of them over the weekend. So if you had your eye on one, you'd better hurry!
